Temperaments

There are four temperaments as propounded by the ancient  Greeks, they believed that a person was born with a certain temperament and it controlled their actions, process of thinking and even their life choices. Tim LaHaye in his book, Why You Act the Way You Do, went on to propound the 12 blends of temperament as no individual can have only one temperament.

This colorful flat illustration shows the four fundamental personality types sanguine, choleric, melancholic, and phlegmatic

The four temperaments are:

1.  Sparky Sanguine

An individual with a sanguine personality type is often vivacious, upbeat, buoyant, and easygoing. They have a high-risk tolerance and enjoy the adventure. Sanguine persons tend to have a hard time enduring boredom and will actively seek out amusement. Naturally, this feature occasionally has a detrimental impact on their relationships, both romantic and otherwise.

They make great entertainers and will succeed in the entertainment sector if they decide to pursue jobs in that field. Their inherent skills will also benefit them if they select careers in marketing, travel, style, cuisine, or athletics.

2.  Cool Phlegmatic

Phlegmatic personalities are typically people-oriented. Phlegmatic persons are devoted lovers and committed parents because they value interpersonal harmony and tight relationships. They make a point of maintaining their connections with former acquaintances, distant relatives, and neighbours.

Ideal occupations for those with phlegmatic personality types should involve Nursing, education, counselling, psychology, child development, or social services.

3.  Bossy Choleric

Goal-orienteers is typical of those with a pure choleric temperament. Choleric are extremely intelligent, analytical, and rational. They are very plain and realistic, but not always good friends or nice people.

Jobs in the following sectors are best for choleric: management; technology, statistics; engineering; programming; business.

4.  Mild Melancholy

Contrary to sanguine individuals, Melancholy value their relationships with family and friends and do not seek novelty and adventure. They stay as far away from it as they possibly can. They are excellent supervisors with terrific personalities, very precise and thorough.

Ideal occupations for those with melancholy personalities should be in: Administration, management, accounting, or social work.

When you also know the temperament and zodiac signs of those people, it will help you more in knowing the best way to interact and associate with them. Don’t just try to know only about yours, learn about other people, especially those you are always in contact with.
