TRAFFIC HARMONY PART 2

Two months into their relationship, Ayomide invited her for the first time to his house. She wasn’t really sure what to expect because for all she knows, the car he was driving that day might not be his because this had been the case with the guys that always wanted her beautiful friends. They would borrow a car just to entice them and after sleeping with them, they would run away or her friends will find out that the car wasn’t theirs but something always made sure that they were exposed.

When she got to his house she became sure that he was indeed wealthy.

He served her cold juice with some snacks. He went and prepared well garnished noodles and eggs. After eating, they both sat down looking at each other in a very romantic way. Immediately, Ayomide moved closer to her and placed his lips on hers, it felt magical to Ajoke because that was her first kiss. He kissed her so tenderly and started caressing her breast. She couldn’t resist and so she reciprocated by touching his penis and then all over his body.

Ayomide made to carry her to his bedroom but couldn’t because she was heavier than she looked. They both laughed and then walked to the bedroom instead. Although, she was embarrassed but, he told her it was okay that he just needed to go to the gym more. He just knows the right words to use on her and the right time to use them.

When they got to the bedroom. He started handling her as though he wanted to devour her. She assumed he was sex starved so that could be his reason. Few minutes into the caressing, kissing and sucking of all her genital parts, she felt there was four hands doing the caressing at the same time, each time she looked she would only see Ayomide. After the first round, they rested and then continued again.

When he was caressing her breast she felt those hands again, this time she felt as though one person was licking her clitoris and caressing her buttocks and the other person was caressing and sucking her breast at the same time. It was a nice feeling but she was beginning to get worried. Each time she looked she saw only Ayomide. But whenever they started love making, she would be feeling another hands on her body. When she couldn’t take it anymore she demanded to know what was happening.

Ayomide told her the story of his life. How he was born a twin but his twin brother died when they were younger and swore to do everything together with him. They have being to different shrines, men of God and different places but no solution to his problem. He also told her that was the reason no girl wanted to stay with him. Although his brother contributed in making him rich because he gave him his own riches that he would have had if he were still alive.

The story came to Ajoke as a shock. She never expected to hear such a thing because she doesn’t believe in spirits.

My brother likes you a lot that was why I had to come to you. He said you were a good person and he would have married you if he was living. When I got to know you better, I discovered all he said about you was true. Now that you know me, I don’t know if you would accept us the way we are? He asked searching for answers from her face. But she kept a neutral facial expression. Another thing you should know, is that he do talk to me, so whenever you see me talking as though I am with someone, just know it is him.

That was too much for Ajoke to bear. She begged to be alone for some time. And he granted her the permission. She quickly took her bag and left his house, rejecting his offer to take her home.

Life was indeed playing tricks on her, so she thought on her way home. She couldn’t sleep that night. She was just thinking about all that had happened. Although, she enjoyed the threesome (having sex with two guys at same time) but she was more worried about having to live like that forever. She refused telling anyone because it would be a thing of shame and no one would believe her because such story was unheard of.

Two weeks after giving him space and thinking deeply about the whole thing, she accepted to be with him because she had already fallen deeply in love with Ayomide.

When she broke the news to him, he was happy to hear it and also told her that his twin brother was very excited with the news too.

A year later, when he discovered that she was indeed saying the truth about being okay with everything and how deeply she loves him, he proposed to her and she accepted to marry him. I wanted to give you much time to think about everything and see, if this is what you can take for the rest of your life before proposing marriage to you but now I am fully convinced that you want to spend the rest of your life with me, he said still kneeling down with the ring.

Ajoke did have something to boast of, but she didn’t like the talking part of Ayomide, it made him look as if he was mad whenever they were at an event or outside the house. She is okay if they were indoors or alone but when his twin brother starts talking to him outside she finds it embarrassing. But she had to live with it forever because that was the life she chose for herself.

My name is Ajoke and the story you are about to read is not the normal story of Cinderella or that of sleeping beauty. I am far from their own love story.

Ajoke is a 25 year old. She’s fat and at the same time short, with legs as big as that of the Igbo farmer’s biggest yam of the new yam festival. And her mouth as wide as that of a big pot. Her face is very flat and sometimes you wonder if a plate was used in designing it. She is all the definition of ugly if you asked her friends who always used her shape to mock and bully her. Ajoke at first would always cry whenever she’s bullied but, when they continued nonstop, she became very used to them with all their mockery and bullying and so, it never bothered her. All she was sure of was that, there was a man out there for her.

Although Ajoke was ugly, but she wasn’t lacking in the aspects of intelligence, hard work and always finding favors. She graduated same year with her friends but she was the only one with a good and well-paying job. Her friends who used to mock and bully her are either engaged with a menial job or were at home.

Ajoke’s story changed on the day she went to work and wasn’t feeling too well, she decided to close early and go home to get some rest as suggested by her boss. On her way to her house, she met a terrible traffic jam. Her city was well-known for having heavy traffic but she didn’t expect there would be any traffic by that time; it wasn’t rush hour yet.

While her head was hammering by the left side, she looked out through the window to see if the water sellers were in sight but none was close by, she could hear their shouts of “buy your cold pure water here” but she couldn’t reach any of them to buy one. While she was still searching on how to get one, a blue Porsche car blew a horn that infuriated her. She quickly turned, opened the window very roughly and made the ‘F’ sign to the driver. She never intended for the driver or whomever was driving such an expensive car to see what she did. None of the passengers saw her but the driver of the car did see her when she made the sign.

When the driver didn’t react nor made any sign of stopping to abuse her or winding down the glass to see who made that sign, when nothing was happening, she concluded that the driver didn’t see her and she thanked her God and swore never to repeat such mistake, she blamed the terrible headache she was having for making her do that “I wasn’t in my right senses” that was her excuse. Just then, the cars and buses began to move slowly and within thirty minutes she was home.

5am the next day, she heard an almost noiseless knock on her door. Being a light sleeper she woke up and opened the door immediately, thinking it was her neighbor who always knocks at that time to beg for either salt or sugar or even pure water, promising to always pay back but never does. Opening the door, she saw a man who is almost her height but a bit taller than she is, standing in front of her door with the ‘F’ sign on his right hand. Her brain didn’t help her immediately but when it did, she screamed and knelt down immediately begging him. It was the man in the Porsche car from yesterday she told herself.

When you are done begging, can I come inside? She was startled but made way for him to enter, still kneeling down on one kneel.

He entered and made himself comfortable by sitting down on her bed because that was the only available place for anyone to seat in her room. She stood up and went close to him, with a pleading face. I’m really sorry for what I did yesterday, I wasn’t in my right senses, please forgive me. She said. He kept on looking at her as though she has been yammering in a language he couldn’t comprehend.

I’m not here to listen to your reasons. I’m here because I like you and I want you to be my girlfriend. I made some findings about you and discovered you are not in any relationship now and so I want you to be my girlfriend.

Ayomide has always been known as a man who always goes for what he wanted but not in relationship aspect. He was also surprised to hear himself say those words to a total stranger that insulted him yesterday. But he was sure she would complete his story for him. Like Ajoke, he was also bullied while in school. He was very short that no one ever thought he would add an inch to his height. He wasn’t the handsome or prince charming kind of guy but he was moderate but not close to average. His friends classified him as ugly and would make mockery of his big ears that looks a bit like those of the elephants. He somehow enjoyed his past because he had proven to his friends that you don’t need to be handsome to get rich or have a beautiful mansion of your own.

“I will be your girlfriend” was the sentence that brought him back from his reminiscing state. But I don’t even know you, she added. You will get to know me soonest, he said to her.

Ajoke was happy for at least she now has something she could boast of. She didn’t really know this guy but she believed that since Rome wasn’t built in a day, she too can’t know him in a day, it will take time but they will get to know each other well enough and who knows, I might get married to him, she said to herself smiling sheepishly.

ENDING 2021 AND STARTING 2022

Talking about the year 2021 will mean talking about how well it was spent. Have you thought about how well you spent this year? If No, this time is the best time to do so because we are already in the last month of the year 2021.

Ending 2021 and Starting 2022?

Well, I woke up this morning and that was the thought that crossed my mind and I thought I should share the post with you all. Reviewing your life annually is something everyone should learn to do because it’s very helpful. Each time I meditate on how well my life was spent annually, it gives me both joy and sadness. But that is just how life is. Life gives you joy and gives you sadness, it’s not always a bed of roses.

When I was reviewing my life, I discovered I had achieved a lot of things I didn’t know I would achieve at this stage of my life. But I kept wondering why I used to be very sad some months ago and calling myself useless because I wasn’t able to achieve some goals that I set for myself. But today I must say I am very proud of myself and I’m very grateful to God for all that I have achieved this year.

This year taught me to be stronger. This year, I experienced a lot of first times in my life but I’m happy because they made me stronger. This year also, I made lots of new friends and in this year, I let some friends go. This year I started my baby blog , a platform that helped me share my thoughts and things I loved with others and I must say I am very grateful to you reading this right now because if it wasn’t for you, this my baby blog won’t be succeeding always.

After reviewing my life in 2021 which is still ongoing though, I must say that I am happy that I made something out of this year.

Now talking about the year 2022 will mean talking about the goals and plans you set for it. It’s not reviewing at this stage but its setting the goal and how to achieve it. Have you set your 2022 goals? If No, what are you still waiting for?

I have set my goals and how to achieve them and hoping that 2022 will be better than 2021 which is everyone’s prayer by the way. Setting a goal helps you have a focus. It is not just a motivational talk, it is reality. When you know what you want to achieve, you will do anything to make it come true. But when you don’t know what you want, you will find yourself doing whatever is available at that point.

That is why it is very advisable to set a goal before the first month of the New Year. So you see, now is the best time to do it. When you do this, you will find out that you will be happy with yourself. Setting a goal also makes you to be disciplined. You will be time conscious and focused on achieving your goals.

To make 2022 a better year, you must first set a goal. Agree with yourself that you will stick to your goals. Because it will definitely be difficult to achieve at some point, that is why you need to agree with yourself that even in the storm, you will stick to your goal. Your goal should be flexible though. Make sure to set weekly, monthly and yearly goals, it really helps trust me.

Try to add that thing you feel is very difficult for you to achieve, because you don’t know when next you will have the time to do it if not now.

There is a quote I came across and this quote has always been on my mind:

“One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted to do. Do it now!” By Paulo Coelho Author of the Alchemist.

The quote is more of a scary one to me than a warning one. I am scared each time I read it and it helps me make more stern decisions.

FINAL THOUGHTS

What is it that you are waiting for before you start doing what you love or want to do? Life is short. Make the best use of life before you leave it. The cemetery houses the greatest talents in the world.

Start your 2022 now instead of waiting for 1^st of January 2022 to make a New Year resolutions that you will end up not meeting up with.

When I started working with my current boss, he told me that I will learn a lot of things from him, things that will last forever and help me in every aspect of my life. All I needed to do was to keep my ears to the ground and know when to take in the lesson because he won’t always be pin pointing the lesson and wisdom for me.

From that day onwards, he started teaching me things from every incident and every encounter we have with the customers. From the lessons he has taught me about every aspect of life, I will be sharing some of the business advice. From this post, you will learn the 6 best business advice from my boss.

1. HAVE A PLAN

In every business you do, make sure you have a weekly, monthly and a yearly plan on how the business will be run. What you will buy, how much budget you can make etc. The plan should be a bit flexible but not too flexible to avoid destroying your business. Having a plan will help you know your next step and where your business is headed. It will help make things easier for you. And it will help keep you on track, so that you will be able to achieve your goals. This type of plan is a bit different from the start up business plan.

With this plan, your business will grow and be on track. When making this plan, you should make up your mind and stick to it to have a good result. Because, when you make this plans and not stick to it, it’s just tantamount to wasting your time.

2. HONESTY

According to my boss, “Honesty is an important ingredient in every business”. As a business man or woman, you need to be transparent, you need to be honest in your dealings with your customers and everyone you come across with in your business. Be honest even to your rank and file workers. You should literally just be an honest person.

Honesty builds loyalty and trust in customers and prospects. You never know which action, event or incident can lead you to meeting your biggest client or your biggest connection that can lift your business higher. Honesty can propel your company to long-term success.

A key method for building trust is through honesty. Once you have your target audience’s trust and loyalty, you will be able to sell any product you have and make good money, and your business will grow without you putting much effort again, because you already have your customers trust. When you gain that trust and loyalty, do not change, stick to being honest.

3. TOO MUCH PROFIT

When you focus on making too much profit from your business, you end up killing your business. The main focus shouldn’t be on how much profit you will make from your sales, it should rather be from the turnovers. How can you make more turnover should be the question you ask yourself, instead of how can I make more profit. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t strategize a means of making profit but you should be more concerned on how to make more turnover in your business; especially when starting your business.

4. SAVINGS

You should probably know by now that savings helps every business and even those who are working a 9-5 jobs. In business, you need to differentiate between main capital and profit and save some percentage of your profit every day. Saving 10% (or more) of your business profit every day, can accumulate more money in a year; when you do your annual review, you will notice the improvement. Savings can help grow your business and help you not to go into bankrupt, because when you are saving your profit, you won’t have any reason to take money from your capital.

5. CONSISTENCY

Consistency is the key to success in every aspect of life, business inclusive. Consistency is repetition of action. For instance, when you start a business, make sure you have a steady time that you open your business, so that your customer can be able to reach you whenever they come at that time. Your product should always be available. Consistency keeps customers, because they are aware that at this time when I want this product, I will definitely get it from this businessman or businesswoman. In building a successful business, you will need to be consistent while working with your customers, keeping up with your brand and being efficient.

6. PATIENCE

There is profit in every business you want to start but the beginning is always tough that is why, you will need a lot of patience to be able to succeed in your business. It may be a cliché but there is truth in “Good things comes to those who wait” and “All good things take time”. For you to have a successful business, you will need to have patience as a virtue, because at some point you will want to quit, you will feel bad. There will be bad and good days. You will need to have patience to be able to tolerate either one that comes your way.

After teaching or giving the above advice, my boss looked at me and said “make sure I am not wasting my time in teaching you all these valuable things”. DOES VIRGINITY MEAN HOLINESS?

Does virginity mean holiness? Or let me make it easier does being a virgin make one holy? NO. This is my answer, you can leave your own answer in the comment section below. Many people mistake virginity for holiness but they are two different thing. Virginity according to oxford dictionary means the condition or quality of being a virgin.

“Virgin means a person who has never had sex”.

“Holiness means the quality of being holy”. “Holy means dedicated or consecrated to God or a religious purpose; sacred”.

From the above definitions, the two words has different meaning. So why do people automatically regard virgins as being holy? Keeping one’s virginity for a very long period of time isn’t an easy task or decision to make because, it comes with a lot of temptation. It’s one thing to feel like having sex and it’s another thing to be able to resist it at the same time. It’s such a strong battle that can either be won or lost but, it boils down to ‘Determination’. It takes a determined individual to abstain from sex or strongly fight their sexual urge especially, during ‘Adulthood’…I really appreciate and give accolades to those that are still virgins. It is not easy, I would admit.

But again, being a virgin is a choice. A man or woman may decide to keep himself or herself for reasonable reasons best known to them. They might decide to keep it because:

1) They want to be deflowered by their future spouse.

2) They’re not yet ready to feel pain in their sexual organs or go through the stress that comes with it during the process, ‘as they assume’.

3) They’re obeying religious/traditional law.

4) They’re just being too careful, they don’t want to give what they consider as a ‘precious gift’ to the wrong person.

5) They’re not fully ready to be deflowered; sometimes it might be fear of sexual intimacy (Genophobia).

6) Some health issues can also make an individual lose interest in sex completely, Example is the female Genital Mutilation…In a case whereby the mutilation wasn’t carried out properly on the girl child, and it affect her sexual organs, hormones and sexual urge entirely. She begins to see sex as being absurd.

For me being a virgin doesn’t mean the person is holy (virgin here refers to both genders). Being a virgin doesn’t determine a person’s holy state. Because a virgin can have bad character. A virgin might not be obeying the commandments of God. A person can be a virgin and still tell lies, steal, murder or even snitch on people….If there are one thousand ways to stay holy, being a virgin is just one out of the thousand. Abstaining from sex isn’t the only Commandment God gave to the world, there are other ways people’s faith are being put to test aside sexual practices.

Some people refer to themselves as virgins because they haven’t being penetrated or haven’t penetrated anyone before; but does other kinds of sexual activities like: blowjob, masturbation, cunnilingus, kissing etc. Now, this makes me to ask a question “does it mean that all those sexual activities are not sin?” I will leave you to ponder on it.

There are two reasons why I decided to write on this topic:

Virginity is a criteria for marriage
Virginity is seen as being holy

VIRGINITY IS A CRITERIA FOR MARRIAGE

Some men have set standards to only get married to a virgin girl. Because to them, a virgin girl is an obedient child. A girl without sin. Forgetting that the age we are in, anyone can be a virgin again (deceptive virgin).

I once met a man that wanted to marry me but said if I wasn’t a virgin or rather if after our marriage he discovers that I am not a virgin, he would divorce me. His reason being that his friend married a virgin and so he too must get married to a virgin. He wants to marry a virgin but he is not a virgin. Virginity doesn’t mean a girl will be good in marriage, a girl will be submissive and humble in marriage, a girl has a good character and a girl can keep a home.

During the days of our fore-fathers, it is said that when you marry a woman as a virgin, it comes with a whole lot of fortunes and it implies that the woman is pure and well- trained by her parents. And those that got deflowered before marriage were considered to be wayward or sinners, they were being punished for going against the traditions of the Land. But nowadays, with the constant changes and civilization of this modern society, people don’t have such mindset any more. We no longer judge people based on their sexual status. Not because we no longer value our cultural norms but because we consider most of the practices (beliefs) as being FETISH.

Virginity is good but shouldn’t be the major criteria for marriage. I have seen people who ended up not being married because they were looking for virgins. How can you be looking for a virgin when you are not one yourself? Any girl or boy that tends to keep his or her virginity till marriage should be respected and honored but that doesn’t mean that those who lost theirs due to some circumstances shouldn’t be respected and honored. This ideology has made some girls to keep their virginity for the wrong reasons, which they tend to regret after marriage. (Check out this link). Keeping your virginity should be a decision you make for good reasons and not because you want to please people.

VIRGINITY IS SEEN AS BEING HOLY

Holiness is keeping the commandments of God and walking in the ways of God. Keeping your body holy because it is the temple of the Holy Spirit is also very good and a step to holiness. But being a virgin doesn’t necessarily mean that the person is holy. Virginity is not God’s goal.

The goal of God is for one to truly love and keep his commandment. A person who is a virgin can still go to hell if he or she isn’t keeping the commandments of God and following the ways of Christ. So, virginity doesn’t mean holiness. Because God loves those who are not virgins too, because those who are not virgins goes to heaven too. Let’s take the case of Mary Magdalene in the bible, she was an adulteress but yet she was the first person to see the risen Christ. She wasn’t a virgin. If virginity is holiness what about those who lost theirs in unpleasant ways? Will they not make heaven as well because they are no longer virgins?

Keeping your virginity is good but that should be a decision you make between you and your God. Some people pledge purity not because they want to but because of what society or church wants them to.

FINAL THOUGHT

Let’s learn to teach our children the right things about virginity and not instilling fear in them; by telling them they will go to hell if they lose their virginity. Teaching children sex education is very good because, it will make them know the implications of premarital sex and everything about sex. Virginity is not holiness and virginity should not be a criteria for marriage.

If anyone chooses to keep his/her virginity, it’s perfectly fine and if they still choose to lose it, it’s fine too.

NOTE: Nobody deserves to be black painted or down casted because they’re no longer virgins.
